- Recharable Batteries? I
recently had 2 NiMH rechargable batteries go bad. I used them in the
clock in my office. It took 1 battery so I would alternate them while
the other charged. They got to the point to where they would only last
1 day on a full charge and loose about 15 minutes. By two days the
clock would be stopped. This went on for about two months. One day I
decided to put these two batteries in the cryo tank just for the heck
of it. I took them out after the cycle completed and recharged them on
the same charger I always used. I am still using the first battery and
haven't had to switch it out for recharging yet. The clock hasn't lost
a minute yet. I cryoed them on March 3'rd, today is May 1'st! It seems
that Cryoing old NiMH batteries may actually rejuvinate them. I cryoed
some other NiMH batteries 4 years ago and most of them are still
working good to this day. One set has gone bad but they were bought new
in 2002 and cryoed in 2007. The other two sets were purchased in 2004,
cryoed in 2007 and are still working good.
